Jennifer Sebasigari

Meet Jennifer Sebasigari, a culinary sensation with an incredible journey!

From a refugee camp to Le Cordon Bleu, from Disney to her own ventures, she's cooked up success at every turn. 



Chef Jennifer Sebasigari is a Texan with a taste for adventure! Born in Bujumbura, Burundi, on March 3rd, 1989, Jennifer's culinary journey started in Langy, Cameroon, where, at a mere 10 years old, she took the reins in crafting family meals. This gastronomic spark ignited in the most unlikely of places – a refugee camp, where Jennifer and her family shared stories and flavors from their hearts. 



After earning her high school diploma at Leander High School, Jennifer's culinary calling called her by name at the age of 25. She took a leap of faith, turning her love for food into a full-blown career. The path led her to the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Austin, Texas, where she joined forces with some of the industry's brightest stars, earning a coveted spot on the Dean's List.


In July 2016, Jennifer proudly donned her chef's hat, graduating with an Associate degree in Culinary Arts. But her journey was far from over. In February 2016, she embarked on a magical adventure, whisking herself off to the enchanting world of Walt Disney Park and Resorts in Orlando, Florida. There, she refined her culinary skills at iconic restaurants like Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom and Tusker House in Animal Kingdom, adding a sprinkle of Disney magic to her repertoire.


The icing on the cake? Jennifer's triumphant return to her hometown, Houston, Texas, where she earned her stripes at the prestigious Oxheart, the city's crown jewel of dining. In the hallowed halls of Oxheart, she teamed up with the culinary virtuoso James Beard Award recipient, Justin Yu, elevating her culinary prowess to stratospheric heights.


From refugee camp kitchens to Dean's Lists, and from Disney's enchantment to Houston's culinary throne, Chef Jennifer Sebasigari's story is a testament to the power of passion and persistence. Stay tuned for more delectable tales from her remarkable culinary odyssey!
